Development of a management plan for improving the operational system of the proposed solid waste treatment facility in Ain Baal
Funded by YMCA, the project consisted of conducting a full study for improving the operational system of the proposed waste treatment facility in Ain Baal.
The proposed project consisted of a material recovery and composting facility. The facility is designed to treat a total capacity of 150 tonnes/day of incoming commingled waste. The material recovery system consists of a typical combination of manual sorting and magnetic separation. However, the composting system will use a high-tech composting technology known as the In-Vessel Tunnel Composting technology.
The Submitted study contained the following outlines:
- General Facility description and layout
o Process description
o List of equipment purchased for the project.
o Existing management systems (indoor-outdoor air quality, water supply, domestic wastewater management, etc...).
- Solid Waste Management Plan for the Union of Tyre
- Management plan for the facility
