Think before You Throw...” Awareness campaign-OMSAR
Under the direction of the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR), and in partnership with the Lebanese NGO Arcenciel, SES led the design and implementation of Lebanon’s first national awareness campaign on waste management, titled “Faker Abel Ma Tkeb...” (Think Before You Throw).
SES was responsible for the full development of the campaign’s communication materials, including the creation of the slogan and logo, as well as the design of awareness posters addressing both municipal solid waste (MSW) and healthcare waste (HCW). The campaign also included stickers targeting MSW issues, two brochures (one for MSW and one for HCW), a comprehensive awareness booklet, and a 2010–2011 educational calendar. Audiovisual content was also produced, featuring a 35-minute awareness DVD, a 10-minute animated video for children, a dedicated awareness song for children, and four televised public service announcements.
Beyond the communication outputs, SES JV coordinated a wide range of field activities to ensure broad public engagement. These efforts included the organization and delivery of 45 public workshops, 18 training-of-trainers sessions, 8 training programs for municipal staff, 26 technical field visits related to MSW and HCW, and 60 community meetings held across various regions. Through this multifaceted approach, SES played a leading role in raising nationwide awareness and fostering responsible waste management practices.
